Pass by iconic Picacho Peak and see the old airplane boneyard by Davis-Monthan Airforce Base as you fly to one of the Old West’s most infamous towns — Tombstone, Arizona.
You’ll feel like a part of history as you relive the epic gunfight at the O.K. Corral and stroll down the same streets as legends Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, and Ike Clanton. There are plenty of museums and famous landmarks to tour, plus a host of historic saloons, hotels, and authentic boutiques to visit. See Tombstone today and find out for yourself why this iconic city is called “The Town Too Tough to Die.”
While in Tombstone, be sure to stop in at The Bird Cage Theatre — a combination saloon, gambling parlor, theater, and brothel. In its heyday, it had a reputation of being one of the craziest places in Tombstone. In 1882, the New York Times said, “the Bird Cage Theatre is the wildest, wickedest night spot between Basin Street and the Barbary Coast.”
The Bird Cage Theater is now a popular tourist attraction and is one of the Old West’s most famous landmarks. The building still resembles its old self — with more than 120 bullet holes remaining in its structure. But before you visit, beware — The Bird Cage Theater is believed to be haunted and special ghost tours are available for those brave enough.
